Flying high in the Birds Nest

The Alfred Factor

Dane and myself were discussing Alfred,  here is the thing,   he is actually well connected in the IAAF and well liked among the spanish speaking countries.   In my opinion his "English" speaking personal skills are not much to be desired.  I think there is a place for him in the olympic committee but when it comes to games, I think he needs to keep his distance from the Athletes.

In my 13 years of athletic experience at major games my best experiences were when David Peterkin and Fortuna Belrose were the Chef de mission.   They are not specialist in Track and Field but their positive attitude made the events a very positive experience.

Dominic

track surface ?

the track in VF is being replaced hopefully in the next few months, what is the plan for the old surface?
maybe the gov can re-lay it somewhere in the north, what do you guys think?

Commonwealth: Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting 2008 - Communiqué

Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting 2008 - Beijing Communiqué

The Fourth meeting of Commonwealth Sport Ministers discussed matters which will influence the future development of sport across the Commonwealth, and maintain the framework of support and cooperation which has developed between the 53 countries and 18 territories of the Commonwealth.

To read the rest, visit http://terryfinisterre.blogspot.com OR http://www.thecommonwealth.org/document/182382/csmm2008.htm (where you can also download the enitre document as a PDF).

Neither Minister Montoute nor his Director of Sport nor his new Permanent Secretary have made any public disclosures regarding this meeting, to the best of my knowledge. So don't be surprised when we don't hear complete and accurate reporting at other levels of governance.
